Kevin Bernard, Founder & CEO
Our Story
Kevin Bernard is an engineer by training and began experimenting with biochar technology in 2020. in 2021 he began research out of necessity to design a larger unit suitable for his biochar production volume. The first generation prototype kiln was fabricated.
2022 and 2023 were all about testing, research and a strong entrepreneurial spirit to push product development forward. In 2024 Local Biochar began commercialization of our flagship product, The Maine Kiln.
