Mobile Biochar Systems fills a void in the biochar equipment market for smaller scale, mobile biochar units that are light enough to tow behind your truck.
We are a manufacturing company fabricating Made in the USA units tailored to meet your needs.
With our simple design and proprietary processing methods, a Mobile Biochar system will produce the best cost benefit ratio for artisanal biochar production units
We're committed to continuously developing new designs, reactor vessels, renewable fuel sources and material handling techniques to enhance the performance and efficiency of our systems.
Our dedicated team will train you with hands-on operational guidance for a clear understanding of biochar production in The Maine Kiln.
We are dedicated to promoting sustainable waste management practices and environmental stewardship.
We are an advocate for the many benefits and uses of biochar.
We will take the time to educate people to what biochar is and how to make it in a mobile biochar system.
In 2019 Kevin Bernard began the first cannabis waste disposal service in Maine, diverting mountains of cultivators biomass from landfills. At the time, the regulated cannawaste disposal was limited and most of it went into dumpsters.
In 2020 I tried making many products, from kitty litter to fire starters, pelletizing it for fuel to composting.
Researching biochar technology led to experimenting with biochar production using the 55 gallon barrel method like most biochar enthusiasts did.
In 2021, Kevin had a 2 barrel kiln made and quickly jumped to fabricating a prototype of the 4 barrel kiln.
2022 Local Biochar was born, and for the next 2 years, we have been testing, refining design and experimenting with multiple fuel sources to push product development forward.
2024 Local Biochar began marketing of our flagship product
The Maine Kiln.
2025 there are 2 units and counting out in the field.
